Family and friends.  And nana and papa.	Food and love	Having time with my family.
Family and friends. And have a big kai together  And with your whanau they enjoy Matariki the Maori New Year	Food and love.  Sharing family stories	Learning about the land and how to look after it. Planting trees and winter crops.   Weaving. And telling family stories. Carving.  Fishing.  Flying kites
Family and friends. They have a New Year parade they get ready for the New Year it last for fifteen day. They red and gold decorations. They are the lucky colours.	Food and love. Getting Ready. They use red and gold decorations. They put sign on the door to welcome people in.  they make special food for a special night.	They had a Reunion dinner. For the special night with the family and friends. And they make Dumplings
Family and friends. On the second day, alisha goes to indian school they listen to a storsi	Food and love. And a Festival of light. They made barfi. They made rangoli. And do store.	They lit  fireworks. They made barfi they lit candles they made rangoli. They perform a dance  on stage

My celebration

WALT understand why different people celebrate the new year.     When do they celebrate new year and how do they celebrate the new year?

Different cultures	When do they celebrate the new year?	What is the celebration called?	How long does the celebration last?	How do they celebrate?
NZ	1st January	New Year	1 day	Camping with my famliy and my nana and papa.me and my papa let off fireworks. And we go places.
Maori	Late May or early June.	Matariki	2 weeks	Learning about the land and how to look after it. Planting trees and winter crops.   Weaving. And telling family stories. Carving.  Fishing.  Flying kites  Being together as a whanau is very important for Matariki. They say Hari Tou Hou.
Indian	October or Early November	Diwali	5 days	Food and love. And a Festival of light. They made barfi. They made rangoli. And tell stories..  They light little candles called DIVA. They let off fireworks. They say “Saal Mubarak.”
Chinese	January or February	Chinese year	15 days	Family and friends. They have a New Year parade they get ready for the New Year it last for fifteen day. They red and gold decorations. They are the lucky colours.  On New Years Day they say-”Gong Xi Fa Cai.” The day after the New Year's day they have a huge parade. Lantern festival is the last day of their New Years celebrations. They hang red and gold lanterns.

My Recount Writting

 Ratu 25th Pipiri 

                                         Camping 

‘’I can not wait till we get to the Camp site’’ I said to my Mum.   

In the weekend I went camping at a
lake in Dargaville with my mum and Dad and brother.
I thought it was going to be amazing.

First when it was the morning we went swimming in the lake.
The water was cold. We didn’t stay in for very long. Then we
got out of the water we had a big kai. We had fish and eel.
It was yum. After lunch we played hide and go seek. It was fun.

The next morning me and Hukarere went fishing with my Dad.
We fished off the rocks. We caught two fish each. They were
snapper and the last one was an eel. My Dad caught the eel.
We felt good about the fishing.

After that we packed the tent away to get ready to go home.
Finally we went home.
I had a great time going camping with my big family.
  I was feeling amazing going to Camp.

My mum and Dad didn’t like When we were going home they
had a big quarrel.
