Recount Writing-At Jump

At Jump
“I can jump higher than you!” shouted my big brother.
In the sunny holidays me, my brother and my papa
went to Jump in Whangarei. It was Saturday afternoon.
We were so excited. We were jumping up and down
and giving each other high fives. We couldn’t wait to get there.
The first thing we did when we got there was
playing in the games room. It was fun because they had a hoop and we played shoots.
Next we played shoots on the trampoline.
That was hard because we kept on jumping high.
When we tried to shoot we just bounced too high
and we kept missing the hoop. To work out the problem we did some slam dunks.
We jumped from the trampoline to the hoop. It was much easier to do that.
After that my papa found a course for us to try.
We had to jump on these rings that were hanging from a bar.
You had to twist and try and swing to the next ring without falling.
If you fell you had to go back to the start. It was pretty hard but we did it.
I only fell once. My brother fell twice.
My papa was able to do it without falling on his first try.
I said to papa, “Good job Papa.” I gave him a hug.
We really enjoyed going to Jump with our papa.

It was cool.

  1. What an awesome recount of your time at Jump Manuera. I thought you used some great descriptive words. I also liked how you use speech marks to show someone was talking, and how you were reflective in wanting to solve your problem. I've never been there before so I really enjoyed learning about what you can do. I might take Armani there one day. Interestingly, I get butterflies in my tummy if I jump too high. Unlike your papa, I probably would've fallen lots to get across the rings. Nga mihi nui ki a koe.
