Rugby league by MANUERA TOMURI-GRACE

On one foggy Sunday morning I travelled with Matua Matt to the Whangarei Rugby fields to play rugby league.                                               I felt happy when we got to the fields and we put our boots on and our uniform.

Next we were playing Manaia and I felt tired.

After that we had a feed by Matua Matts van. Some of the players brought lunch to share and Matua Matt bought us some pizza. It was cool. I felt awesome.

After our feed we went for a swim at a lake.And Dallas-Rae jumped off this big rock.

Matua Matt said, “If you jump off this big rock I will give you a drink.”

Dallas said, “Yes.” So he jumped off.Then me and Matua Matt and my friends got dropped off.

I went to training yesterday. We were soaked and cold.

Recount Writing-Another League Game.

I am learning to use thoughts and feelings in my recount writing.

On a cold Sunday morning me and some of my rugby league team went to rugby league. We traveled to Whangarei with Matua Matt in his van. It was cool traveling together in the van.

When we arrived at the rugby league fields we were excited. We were versing the Otangarei Knights.

The game was pretty tough because Otangarei Knights were good league players. We lost by one point and we were feeling disappointed. Then we lost the whole game but it was alright. I can’t wait for my next game.

On our way home we stopped to have a swim and we had pizza for lunch at the lake. It was awesome. We had a cool day.

Recount Writing-Rugby League

                             Rugby league.

On Sunday morning I travelled with Matua Matt to the Whangarei Rugby fields to play Rugby League.

I felt happy. When we got to the field we had to put our rugby boots on and then our uniform. After that we walked to our game. I felt that we were going to play our game that’s where we practice.

Then we had a game of rugby league and Tautoro Titans vs Mania. They were great at playing rugby league.

Our kick off was at 10.00 and then at 9.59 Mania came over to the field. Then the horn went off and we started our game. We did rock, paper and scissors and our team won. Dallas was captain. He said, “They can kick the ball to us.” Tyson-Lee caught the ball. The game was awesome. We won.

Dallas-Rae and Tyson-Lee won the player of the day award. Then we went to Hika Lake for a swim. Dallas-Rae jumped off this big rock but before we went over there all of us did a chain.

We had a cool day.
